I applied 'French Nuts Stitch' to a small piece of knitting, no bigger than my hand. I was trying to create surface variations and make the texture stiffer and harder. I made more pieces like this and joined these fragments together by layering their edges and stitching across them. All this stitching resulted in a hard and uneven surface with a relief texture that somewhat reminds me of the 'Dot' paintings of Seurat. I used a red colour that makes me think of mother earth.
